Corporate Eye Care

As an employer, the greatest asset of any business is its health and wellbeing of its people.

Caring for the health of your employees eyesight is not only about providing a duty of care but can also have a direct correlation on your workforce’s productivity and comfort.

COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME

Digital devices have become an increasingly important part of our day to day lives. Whether it be computers, tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices, these all contribute to the eye becoming tired, resulting in digital eye strain, also known as “computer vision syndrome”

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve.  Often this disease has been caused by high pressure inside the eye and can lead, if undetected to irreversible vision loss.

In Australia, we are experiencing a rapid number of cases, with an ageing population, to around 400,000 by 2025.

Cataracts

A cataract is when there is a clouding of the lens of the eye, making it difficult to carry out day to day activities.  People who experience cataracts liken it to looking out of a fogged up window.

Whilst it is more common in older people, there have been cases in the younger generations.

Macular Degeneration

Macular Degeneration (Age Related Macular Degeneration) is an age related disease which affects the retina.

Whilst it does not generally result in total vision loss, the central reading vision becomes affected leaving the peripheral vision intact.

Pink and red eye

Conjunctivitis, also known as Pink Eye, is an inflammation of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is the thin clear tissue that lies over the white part of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelid

The red colour appears when the small blood vessels begin to become inflamed.

Dry eye

It is common as we age that we experience a decrease in tear production or that our tear evaporation increases.  These tears or lubrication, however, is essential to maintain our clear vision, create greater eye comfort, reduce eye infections and to get rid of foreign matter that may get into the eye.

Other eye diseases

Many eye diseases show little or no signs of symptoms and can affect you at any age. A periodical eye test will ensure that you can track any abnormalities to the eyes and give you peace of mind that your eyesight is in good health.
